About Ethan
Ethan Long is a Composer, Producer and Audio Engineer from Atlanta Georgia specializing in compositions featuring live instruments and electronics, synthesized sounds, poetry, and live video processing. Since graduating high school in 2021, he has audio engineered, mixed and mastered two jazz albums, performed several original compositions at Oberlin College and Conservatory, has worked on several creative projects as producer in several genres such as R&B, Rap and Pop music and scored a short film. Recently Ethan has developed electroacoustic compositions inspired by Poets and Jazz artists such as Maya Angelou, and Charlie Parker that fuse field recordings with poetry and synthesized sounds. Currently he is creating performance patches and hardware that process signals of live string instruments to control parameters of sound and video which can be seen in a recent piece titled Flashback for live electronics and viola. He looks to expand on technology used in previous performances and focus on his use of live electronics to incorporate human movement as a multimedia performance tool.
